AquaJazz Festival to be Held in Sochi from August 1 to 4, 2014

Lee Ritenour (guitar)/USA, Dave Grusin (keyboards)/USA and their group, vocalists Allan Harris and Lisa Henry as well as the resident of AquaJazz – Moscow jazz orchestra directed by Igor Butman – will become the headliners of the V Anniversary International Festival AquaJazz. Sochi Jazz Festival. The city of Sochi again will witness the bright celebration of good music!

By tradition, the festival will open with jazz parade led by Igor Butman in "Riviera" park. On August 1, 2 and 3 chamber concerts of the festival will be held on the stage of Winter Theatre while on August 4 the final gala concert will take place at the concert hall "Festivalny".

Concerts, master classes, creative meetings and jam sessions at city sites are planned.

The International Festival AquaJazz. Sochi Jazz Festival is organized in Sochi for four years.

The festival history has begun in 2010: the Cultural Olympiad has started in Sochi and the Organizing Committee "Sochi-2014" has approached Igor Butman invinting him to hold a jazz festival of international significance in the capital of the Olympic games.

In four years the festival concerts were visited by tens of thousands of spectators. Among its participants there were world-famous jazz musicians – Bill Evans and the group "Soulgrass", the groups "CAB" and "TAKE 6", Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet, Tony MacAlpine, Virgil Donati, Allan Harris, Zenia McPherson, Mark Whitfield Jr., Kate Davis, Oleg Akkuratov,

Anatoly Kroll, Paul Bollenback, Valery Ponomarev, Brianna Thomas, Moscow jazz orchestra of Igor Butman, Vadim Eilenkrig, Nikolay Levinovsky, Dmitry Mosypan, Trio of Daniyl Kramer, Robert Anchipolovsky and many other musicians.

In 2013, a record number of participants has taken part in AquaJazz – more than 150 musicians from Russia, USA and Israel.
